1. Is the mode for primary school students entering middle school a direct admission process? Do they need to participate in the school's internal examination?

MKBS is a through school where primary school students can be directly admitted to middle school, but first, they need to participate in the school's internal assessment.

2. How are the teacher resources?

The teacher resources at MKBS are exceptional. All faculty and staff possess professional qualifications; over half have overseas educational backgrounds. With an average teaching experience of over five years, our teachers have undergone rigorous training by the school and possess extensive experience in differentiated teaching and personalized tutoring.

3. What is the ratio of teachers to students?

The average teacher-student ratio across the entire school is 1:5, with small class sizes. Each class has no more than 24 primary and middle school students.

4. What is the ratio of Chinese to foreign teachers? What is the background of the foreign teachers?

The ratio of Chinese to foreign teachers is 4:1.

MKBS is the exclusive authorized school of Kingston Grammar School in China, and Kingston Grammar School provides various supports to MKBS in terms of teachers and other resources. For example, the foreign principal of the International Upper School is appointed by Kingston Grammar School.

5. Are the textbooks the same as those in public schools? Are they taught according to the unified textbooks of the Ministry of Education?

The national curriculum is the foundation, and the national curriculum in the compulsory education stage is mandatory. In addition, MKBS has a school-based integrated curriculum that focuses on enhancing students' innovative thinking and abilities.

6. What is the daily schedule for boarding students in primary school from after school to lights out?

Typically, the after-school schedule for boarding students is as follows: The life teacher will lead the students to have dinner, followed by a half-hour of free time. Then, the duty teacher will oversee the students' bilingual reading session in Chinese and English. After that, the duty teacher will monitor the evening self-study session, where students can work on their homework independently. Once the self-study session is over, students will have a late snack. Afterward, the life teacher will guide the students through bedtime preparation, including washing up, getting ready for sleep, and turning off the lights.

7. Is the canteen operated independently or outsourced? How many meals are provided daily?

Our canteen is operated independently, and we ensure the freshness of daily ingredients. Our chefs and management staff have years of experience working in five-star hotels. Day students are provided with one meal and two snacks, while boarding students enjoy three meals and three snacks, ensuring a diverse mix of Chinese and Western cuisine.
