International Upper School

国际高中部

Our Curriculum

MKBS is officially certified and authorized by the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) to offer IGCSE and A-LEVEL courses.

The International Upper School curriculum at MKBS comprises four significant modules: academic core courses, specialized focus courses, practical activity courses, and university entrance planning courses. The curriculum is diverse and covers a wide range of subjects.

The academic core courses include IGCSE/A-LEVEL, required courses (core and general), and elective courses (science, humanities, and arts).

The specialized focus courses encompass academic competitions, project research, summer school learning, and language reinforcement.

The practical activity courses feature ECA/CCA, community activities, multicultural thematic events, festive celebrations, community service, social welfare, corporate visits, practical training, and study tours.

The university entrance planning courses are tailored to each student, including systematic assessments, mentor responsibility systems, and guidance for prestigious university applications.

Furthermore, for some new International Upper School students, we have designed a pre-admission bridging program that covers five key aspects: learning attitude and habits, life adaptation, English language preparation, transformation of learning methods, and subject learning. This program aims to help newcomers smoothly transition and adapt to the new international curriculum.

The academic courses are divided into introductory, extended, and customized courses. The extended courses are categorized into academic and comprehensive quality courses. The extended academic courses bridge the gaps between various disciplines, guide students to pay attention to problems encountered in real life, focus on cultivating their problem-solving abilities, and enhance their comprehensive academic literacy.

The comprehensive quality courses build a rich and diverse spectrum of talent cultivation programs based on the CCA curriculum system of Kingston in the UK.

The moral and virtue courses are delivered through various cultural and sports activities, including outdoor study tours, traditional Chinese culture, Mid-Autumn poetry recitals, sports training, English recitation competitions, and other activities. These activities aim to infiltrate patriotism, collectivism, etiquette, national spirit, and global perspectives into students' spiritual education.
