I. Library Introduction

The MKBS library in the Sports and Cultural Center consists of a long rectangular building for book storage and reading and a "Xia Yuan" water garden. The "book storage building" of the library comprises four floors above ground and one floor below, totaling five floors, which are open to all students and teachers of the school free of charge.

 

The underwater reading room on the first basement floor houses a collection of Chinese and English picture books and magazines. The spacious area can host various reading activities and cultural events. The first floor features an art exhibition hall, a service counter, self-service retrieval machines, and self-service borrowing and returning machines. Equipped with 140 reading tables and chairs, housing Chinese books suitable for students from grades 1 to 6. The second floor houses Chinese and foreign language books ideal for students from grades 1 to 6. The third floor contains Chinese books for teachers and students from grades 7 to 12. The fourth floor houses Chinese and foreign language books suitable for teachers and students from grades 7 to 12.

 

II. Library Opening Hours

The library is open from 8:00 to 17:00, Monday through Friday. It is closed on weekends and public holidays. If you wish to use the library's facilities for an event, please make a reservation at least two days in advance.



Teaching Building

The teaching building of MKBS is a courtyard-style structure with a length of 200 meters, breaking the traditional spatial layout. It boasts a circuitous staircase from the first to the fifth floor. It offers a diverse teaching environment with over a hundred regular and various specialized classrooms. The skylight design, which features a half-open and half-closed structure, ensures that the atrium is protected from rainwater while allowing the natural rain to irrigate the greenery within the teaching building.

I. Grand Theatre

The circular Grand Theater of MKBS can accommodate up to a thousand people. Its spacious interior, comfortable seating, and outstanding audio-visual Design provide a superb viewing experience for the audience. The stage design of the theater is highly flexible. It can be adjusted to meet the needs of various performances, whether a concert or a speech, ensuring an excellent presentation in the Grand Theater.

II. Black Box Theater

The intimate atmosphere of the Black Box Theater fosters a closer connection between performers and the audience, enhancing the sense of participation and immersive experience. It is suitable for rehearsals, interviews, and meetings. The small theater boasts its independent entrance and exit, allowing it to operate independently and open to the public during weekends and holidays.



Light and Shadow Lecture Hall

Located atop the Black Box Theater, the Light and Shadow Lecture Hall stands at the central position on the west side of the entrance, with its hill-like exterior making it the most iconic building of MKBS. Light filters through the skylights, creating dots of light inside that shift in position and colour with the passage of time. This entire space can accommodate up to two or three dozen people for lectures and exchanges.



Stormy Playground

The Design of the Stormy Playground seamlessly integrates functionality with aesthetic appeal. The large areas of transparent glass on the east and west facades provide students with an indoor sports venue sheltered from the wind and rain, allowing them to stay close to nature and enjoy the outdoor scenery while exercising. 



Swimming Pool

The semi-underground Design of the swimming pool ingeniously introduces natural light into the indoor space. Sunlight filters through the glass above and reflects onto the white ceiling of the pool, creating a dynamic play of light that complements the shimmering surface of the water below. 



Cafe

Located on the first floor of the Cultural and Sports Center, the cafe opens onto the street, offering an open and inviting space for parents waiting to pick up their children. Through the glass windows on both sides, patrons can enjoy the streetscape while also taking in the beautiful views of the campus.
