MKBS Primary School Autumn Research and Study
研学活动作为苏州山峰双语学校的校本课程中“大人文拓展”部分，在MKBS的课程体系里具有举足轻重的作用。G1-G4的孩子们通过“四季”系列活动，在与大自然亲密互动中，走近自然，认识自然；G5-G6的孩子们则通过“五立”系列活动，立德、立智、立身、立范、立业，在自然与人文历史景观中，形成自己的世界观、价值观、人生观。
As a part of the MKBS school-based curriculum, the “Great Humanities Expansion”, study tour activities play a pivotal role in the MKBS curriculum system. In the “Four Seasons” series in G1-G4, children get close to nature and get to know nature through close interaction with nature; in the "Five Establishments" series in G5-G6, children develop their world view, values and life view through the natural and humanistic historical landscapes by setting up a role model, establishing a character, morality, learning and a career.

秉承这样的理念，本次秋季研学活动，G1-G4孩子们的目的地是上海海昌海洋公园，旨在希望孩子们在与自然和动物的亲密互动中，明白自然保护与人类活动的平衡关系；G5-G6的孩子们则打卡千年古城苏州，让他们体味独特的自然、人文、历史景观。下面我们一探究竟他们各自的精彩与收获。
Adhering to this concept, in the study tour in this fall, G1-G4 children’s destination is Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park, aiming to hope that children understand the balance between nature protection and human activities through the close interaction with nature and animals; G5-G6 children visit the thousand-year-old city of Suzhou, so that they cantaste the unique natural, humanistic and historical landscapes. Let’s take a look at the excitement and rewards of each of them.

11月7日早晨，G1-G4的孩子们正式从MKBS的校园出发啦！从学校到目的地研学路途虽长，但乐学反而让孩子们在途中更充满期待。
On the morning of November 7, the G1-G4 children set out from the Mountain Kingston Bilingual School! Although the journey from the school to the destination was long, the children were full of anticipation on the way though the joyful learning.

研学团队带队的潘老师解说既专业又好玩，他在途中跟孩子们进行了围绕主题的趣味有奖互动，比如海洋里都有哪些动物？哪个海洋动物有“美人鱼”之称？一个个简短但不简单的问题激发了孩子们的学习热情，让整个旅途也变得充满乐趣。
Mr. Pan, the leader of the study tour team, was both professional and fun, and he had fun prize-winning interactions with the children on the way around the theme, such as: What animals are in the ocean? Which sea animal is known as “mermaid”? The short but not simple questions inspired the children to participate and learn with great enthusiasm, and made the whole journey full of fun.

在上海海昌海洋馆参观过程中，孩子们和老师们最难忘的就是虎鲸表演了。虎鲸在训练员的指挥下完成各种高难度动作，如跳跃、翻滚、冲浪等，这些表演不仅展示了虎鲸的智慧和灵性，更是给现场的观众们带来了无尽的惊喜和欢乐。
The most memorable part of the visit to Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park for the children and teachers was the Orca show. In the show, the Orcas were able to perform various difficult maneuvers such as jumping, rolling and surfing under the command of their trainers. These performances not only demonstrated the intelligence and spirit of killer whales, but also brought endless surprises and joy to the audience.

虎鲸是海洋生态系统中重要的物种之一，它们对维护海洋生物多样性和生态平衡起着重要作用。孩子们通过现场播放的先导片也明白了保护海洋生物的重要性，增加了对海洋的保护意识。
Orca is one of the important species in the marine ecosystem, and they play an important role in maintaining marine biodiversity and ecological balance. The children also realized the importance of protecting marine life through the pilot film shown on site, and increased their awareness of the protection of marine life.

旅途结束，孩子们回到美丽的校园，但研学并没有结束。大家在校园中继续分享自己的所思所获，学生们从自省、责任、坚韧、勇气、创造、关爱、交流、尊重等方面进行行后交流，继续提升自我。孩子们在“行中学，学中思”，真正做到了学思结合，知行合一。
At the end of the trip, although the children have returned to the beautiful campus, the study tour is not over. Everyone in the beautiful campus continued to share what they thought and learnt, from introspection, responsibility, resilience, courage, creativity, care, communication, respect and other aspects of the post-trip exchanges, and continued to improve themselves. Children did “learn by doing, think by learning”, really did the combination of learning and thinking, knowledge and action in unity.
G5-G6孩子们此次研学的地点是既有园林之美，又有山水之秀的苏州。苏州是中国著名古都，曾为春秋之吴国、三国之孙吴等多个政权的首都，也是中国现存最古老的城市，经考证为中国第一古城。
The location of this study tour for Grade 5-6 is Suzhou, which has both the beauty of gardens and the beauty of mountains and rivers. Suzhou is a famous ancient capital of China, which was once the capital of Wu in the Spring and Autumn Period, Sun-Wu in Three Kingdoms Period, and it is also the oldest existing city in China, which is certified as the first ancient city in China.

天平胜境 名相故里
天平山海拔201米，山势峭峻奇险，古称白云山，山下有北宋名相范仲淹纪念馆。整个景区占地近百顷，向以“红枫、奇石、清泉”三绝著称，有万笏朝天、高义叠翠等十八胜景。
The Tianping Mountain is 201 meters above sea level, the mountain is steep and dangerous, the ancient name is Baiyun Mountain, also known as Ci Mountain, under the mountain there is the famous prime minister of the Northern Song Dynasty Fan Zhongyan’s Memorial Hall. The entire scenic area covers an area of nearly one hundred hectares, best known as “red maple, strange stones, clear springs” , and there are eighteen scenic spots such as “Wanhu Chaotian” “Gaoyi Diecui”.

“山高自可登临上，水深不妨涉足知。”G5-G6师生们一鼓作气，携手登上了天平山顶，在山顶鸟瞰苏州城区时，登顶的喜悦油然而生。
在范仲淹纪念馆里，孩子们认真倾听领队黄老师诉说一代名相范仲淹的成相之路和治国理念，体会他“先天下之忧而忧，后天下之乐而乐”的博大胸襟。
“The mountain is high enough to be climbed, and the water is deep enough to be waded.” Teachers and students of the fifth and sixth grades, hand in hand, climbed to the top of the Tianping Mountain, when taking a bird’s-eye view of the city of Suzhou at the top of the mountain, the joy of reaching the top of the mountain came to life.
At the Fan Zhongyan’s Memorial Hall, the children listened to the leader, Mr. Huang, who told them about the famous prime minister Fan Zhongyan’s road to success and his philosophy of governance, and experienced his broad-mindedness of “be the first to worry about the nation’s woes and the last to share in its prosperity”.

漫步古镇 体验非遗
木渎古镇，素有“吴中第一镇”、“秀绝冠江南”之誉，也被百姓戏称为乾隆皇帝的“民间行宫”。师生们跟随领队的步伐，漫步古镇，参观严家花园、虹饮山房等苏州园林，感受中式美学。
The ancient town of Mudu is known as “the first town in Wuzhong” and “the most beautiful town in the South of Yangtze River”, and it is also jokingly called the “folk palace” of Emperor Qianlong by the people. Teachers and students followed the leader’s pace, strolling through the ancient town, visiting the Yan’s Garden, Hongyin Mountain House and other Suzhou gardens, feeling the Chinese aesthetics.
苏州古典园林所蕴涵的中华哲学、历史、人文习俗是江南人文历史传统、地方风俗的一种象征和浓缩，展现了中国文化的精华，在世界造园史上具有独特的历史地位和重大的艺术价值。孩子们漫步其中，在研学领队的声情并茂的讲解中了解了相关典故和深刻寓意，一路行来获益匪浅。
The Chinese philosophy, history and humanistic customs embedded in the classical gardens of Suzhou are a symbol and concentration of the humanistic and historical traditions and local customs of regions south of the Yangtze River, showing the essence of Chinese culture, which has a unique historical status and significant artistic value in the history of gardening in the world. The students strolled through the garden and learnt about the allusions and profound meanings in the colorful explanations of the study tour leaders, and were greatly benefited along the way.

苏绣被誉为中国四大名绣之首，此行G5-G6的孩子们也在专业老师的指导下深度体验了一次非遗文化——苏绣。同学们在体验结束后纷纷带着自己的作品展示给家人、朋友，做了一回非遗文化的传播人。
Suzhou embroidery is known as the first of the four famous embroideries in China, and the students on this trip also had a deep experience of the non-heritage culture--Suzhou embroidery, under the guidance of professional teachers. After the experience, the students brought their own works to show to their families and friends, and became the spreader of non-heritage culture.
泱泱华夏，历史悠长，文化成就未来，传承不容忘怀。非物质文化遗产，是印证过去，见证未来的瑰宝，我们有责任让其赓续绵延，展示华夏民族的文化自信。
China has a long history, the culture makes the future, and the heritage should not be forgotten. Intangible cultural heritage is a testimony to the past, treasure to witness the future, we have the responsibility to let it continue to show the Chinese nation’s cultural confidence.
知行合一，行胜于言。通过本次研学活动，孩子们走出校门，在真实的情境之中体验、合作、探究，真正养成适应未来社会发展的必备品格和关键能力，让创新教育变得可视化。期待下一次研学给孩子们带来不一样的体验和收获。
Knowledge and action are united, and actions speak louder than words. Through this study tour activity, children go out of school, to experience, cooperate and explore in real situations, and really develop the necessary character and key abilities to adapt to the future development of society, and it also makes innovative education become visualized. We are looking forward to the next study tour, which will bring different experiences and harvests to the children.
