MKBS Primary School Book Day
图书馆日活动是苏州山峰双语学校实施创新阅读教学的重要组成部分，孩子们在阅读中汲取知识，开阔视野，和古今中外的书中人物对话，在阅读中前行和成长。
Book Day is an integral part of MKBS's innovative reading instruction, during which children acquire knowledge, broaden their horizons, and have conversation with book characters at all times and in all countries, move forward and grow through reading.
书本不只是白纸黑字里的方寸世界，是浩瀚历史的铺陈、如沐春风的兴味，更是学生们展示自我风采、自信表达的舞台。在这一天，师生们全都装扮成自己喜欢的书中角色，开始一天的阅读狂欢。
Books are more than just a square inch of black and white, representing vast histories and spring breeze, they also provide a stage for students to show themselves and express themselves confidently. On this day, teachers and students dressed up as their favorite book characters, starting a day of reading carnival.

11月15日清晨，MKBS小学部的小记者们早早地架好摄像机和话筒，迎接盛装打扮的学生们走进校园，仪式感满满。
On the morning of November 15, MKBS’s young reporters in primary school set up cameras and microphones early to welcome the dressed-up students into campus, creating a ceremonious atmosphere.
“你今天装扮的是谁？”
“我是拥有魔法的哈利波特。”
“我是守护世界的超级英雄。”
“我是采蘑菇的小红帽。”
“Who are you dressed up as today?”
“I'm Harry Potter, the one with magic.”
“I am the superhero who guards the world.”
“I am Little Red Riding Hood, the mushroom picker.”
从童话故事到历史故事，从艾莎到赵云，古今中外书中的人物纷纷从书中走来，在山峰校园内“活”起来了。
From fairy tales to historical stories, from Queen Elsa to Zhao Yun, characters from ancient and modern books came alive on MKBS’s campus.
创意角色分享 / Character Idea Sharing
同学们围绕自己装扮的角色展开了讨论，有的绘声绘色地讲述故事内容，有的通过思维导图向大家介绍自己喜欢的书中角色，诠释着自己对书中人物的理解以及该人物对自己的影响。
Students discussed their chosen characters. Some narrated the story content vividly, while others introduced their favorite characters through mind maps, interpreting his or her understanding of the character in the book and the impact that character has had on himself or herself.

不管是获取知识还是明白生活的哲理，孩子们都兴致勃勃地讲述着书中人物和自己的故事，仿佛是在讲述自己的好朋友。
Whether they were gaining knowledge or understanding the philosophy of life, the children were excited to share the stories of the characters and themselves, as if they were telling about their best friends.
超级表演秀 / Super Performance Show
分享完角色装扮的创意，全体师生齐聚黑匣子，把一个个精彩的故事搬上了舞台。二年级的课本剧《小蝌蚪找妈妈》，赚足了笑声；三年级的舞台剧《卖火柴的小女孩》则收获了一波波眼泪。
After sharing ideas for character dress-ups, all the teachers and students gathered in the Black Theater to bring an exciting story to life. Grade 2 performed a drama from the textbook named “Little Tadpoles Looking for Mother”, earning lots of laughter. Grade 3’s play, “The Little Girl Selling Matches”, harvested a wave of tears.
由教师和学生共同创作的《悲惨世界》的英文歌剧，传递出了经典的力量；诗歌朗诵《祖国到底是什么》，又让大家感受到了演讲的力量。
The English opera “Les Miserables”, co-created by teachers and students, conveyed the power of classics. Poetry recitation, “What is the Motherland?” let everyone feel the power of speech.

一年级小朋友用他们的情绪为大家表演了英文歌曲《Feelings Song》天真童趣。
Children in Grade 1, with their emotions, performed an English song—Feelings Song, letting us experience childlike innocence.

最后，五年级所有师生齐上阵，为大家带来了一场精彩绝伦的角色扮演T台秀，完美地结束了本次的演出。
Finally, all Grade 5 teachers and students came together for a fantastic role-play walk show, perfectly concluding the event.

宇宙是一个大世界，中国书法是一个小宇宙。点画之间驰骋着广阔的哲学空间，儒之中和、庄之玄妙、道之博大、佛之空灵，同样可以从书法的章法与点画中得到体悟。

If the universe was a big world, Chinese calligraphy would be a small universe. There is a vast philosophical space between dots and strokes. The neutralization of Confucianism, the thoughts of Zhuangzi, the vastness of Taoist culture, and the ethereal spirit of Buddhism can be realized from the rules and dots of calligraphy.

吴寒松老师进行书法文化讲座
Calligraphy Lecture by Mr. Hansong Wu for MKBS
我们有幸请到了现任中国书法艺术研究院艺术委员会会员、上海市书法家协会理事——吴寒松老师，为大家开展了一场关于书法文化的讲座，吴寒松老师一边书写一边讲述汉字的故事，用简单又富有趣味的形式向大家介绍了什么是书法，中国汉字为什么是传统文化的根，一千个汉字有一千个故事，青少年如何写书法。
We were honored to have Mr. Hansong Wu, currently a member of the Artistic Committee of the Chinese Academy of Calligraphy and a director of the Shanghai Calligraphers Association, conduct a lecture on the culture of calligraphy. Mr. Wu told the story of Chinese characters while writing. He introduced what calligraphy is, why Chinese characters are the root of the traditional culture, how a thousand Chinese characters have a thousand stories, and how young people can write calligraphy in a simple yet interesting way.

孩子们听得兴趣盎然，结束后还纷纷围着吴寒松老师提问合影。最后，吴寒松老师还向苏州山峰双语学校捐赠了他的作品集，希望孩子们能从小好好学习书法。
The children were very interested, and after the session, they gathered around Mr. Wu to ask questions and take pictures with him. In the end, Mr. Wu donated a collection of his works to MKBS and hoped the children could learn calligraphy well from childhood.

午饭后，孩子们拿上游园会入场券，迫不及待地走进了风雨操场，那里有老师精心为孩子们设计的游戏，参与游戏集齐印章，就可以参与转盘抽奖。徜徉在现场，不禁被孩子们的欢乐所吸引。
After lunch, the children took tickets for the garden party. They couldn't wait to enter the Stormy Playground, where there were games carefully designed by teachers for the childeren. If the kids participated in the games and collected stamps, they could join the carousel raffle. Wandering around the site, I couldn't help but be attracted by the joy of children.

找到和自己同样装扮的同学，一起拍照打卡，在游戏中结识更多的朋友；百科知识反向拔河，智力和体力缺一不可；英文填字游戏，拼音游戏，汉字套圈，看谁的基础知识更扎实；寻找诗词，看图猜成语，比一比谁的文化知识更丰富。
Finding students who are dressed up in the same way as you, taking photos together, and making more friends in the game. Encyclopedic knowledge of reverse tug-of-war, intelligence and physical strength are indispensable. English crossword puzzle, Pinyin game, and Chinese character ring toss to see who has more solid basic knowledge. Finding poems, guessing idioms by looking at the pictures to see who has more cultural knowledge.
看图猜书名，给最喜欢的书中角色写一封信，寻找阅读达人；创意书签，在50米长布上共同画上自己装扮的书中的角色，阅读也是艺术。
Guessing the name of a book by looking at the pictures, writing a letter to your favorite character in the book, and finding the “reading master”. Creative bookmarks, painting the characters from the book in their costumes on a 50-meter-long cloth. Reading is also art.

每一个游戏都深受孩子们的喜爱，大家积极参与，享受游戏带来的快乐，老师也在游戏中引导大家不断尝试，积极挑战。
The children loved each game; they actively participated and enjoyed the happiness brought by the game, and the teachers also encouraged them to keep trying and actively challenge during the games.

图书馆日结束了，但是阅读不会结束，图书馆日的活动仅仅是苏州山峰双语学校阅读活动中的一小部分。阅读的魔力会像烛光一样温暖我们的心灵，为孩子们的成长之路指引方向。
Book Day is over, but reading never ends. Book Day is only a tiny part of the reading activities at Mountain Kingston Bilingual School. The magic of reading will warm our hearts like candlelight and guide our children on their journey.
